Sally Beyai told the court that she worked as a cook and recognised the accused person.
She recalled that on 13 September 2013, in the morning, she was going to work at Brusubi when she met with the accused at a junction at Kerr Serign.
She said there was stagnant water and she gave the accused space to pass, adding that the accused then attacked her and threw her umbrella away.
According to her, the accused took her handbag and started running away, adding that she shouted for help that a thief had taken her handbag.
She explained that there was a boy coming behind who helped her to apprehend the accused person.
She further adduced that three mobile phones, a long-sleeve white shirt, veil and a wallet were inside the handbag, adding that the LG mobile phone was missing when the accused was apprehended by the boy.
She later reported to the police station and her statement was recorded.
The case was adjourned till 14 October 2015.
