Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the FIOH Literary consultant, Mr. Ousman Cham, said these bicycles are meant to make work easier for the facilitators of the Adult Literacy and Women's Empowerment project.He added that the facilitators are all well equipped and this will help them in their work. Mr. Cham asserted that each cluster has a literacy cycle to generate community action plans which are supported by the FIOH.
He urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the bicycles so they will last for a long time.
For his part, the Secretary General of Chargel, Mr. Musa Jallow, commended FIOH for their laudable gesture. He added that FIOH has been very supportive for the last few years in the area of adult literacy. He assured the donors that the bicycles will go a long way towards serving their purposes.
Mrs. Halimatou Marong thanked the donors and stressed the need to have bicycles for the facilitators which, she said, will help them in their work.
The Alkalo of Chargel village, Hammadi Jawo, urged women to take classes seriously and said that FIOH has come to empower them. He appealed to FIOH to provide milling machines to reduce their domestic workload.
