Farato United FC are through to the Gambia Football Association (GFA) third division triangular qualifiers after thrashing Jah Oil FC of Sifoe village 4-2 in the all Kombo South final at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Sunday.
The keenly contested final attracted a large crowd from Brikama and its environs.
Farato United FC opened the scoring through striker Lamin Sanyang in the 7th minute of the game, before Jah Oil FC leveled their advantage through striker Bekai Bojang in the 16th minute of the game.
Farato United FC fought back, and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities, and their efforts paid dividends in the 39th minute, when Abdoulie Jallow put them back on level terms.
Upon resumption, Farato United FC continued their supremacy over Jah Oil FC by dominating ball possession in the midfield.
Symon Mendy alias Saha netted their third goal in the 60th minute, after smashing the ball pass Jah Oil FC’s defence line to make the score line 3-1 for the Farato outfit, dashing Jah Oil FC's hopes of coming back to their feet.
The situation turned against Jah Oil when Bekai Bojang netted his second goal of the game to reduced the score line to 3-2 in the 69th minute.
Symon Mendy alias Saha extended Farato United’s lead in the dying minutes of the game, from a spectacular strike, to complete a 4-2 score line.
The win has confirmed Farato United's qualification to the GFA third division triangular qualifiers, where they will meet Jambanjelly FC, teams from Kanifing Municipality and Banjul respectively.
