Emergency equipment on sports injury course is due to end today.
The course, which began yesterday at the Gambia Football Association GFA House, brought together various participants from the first Division teams and the GFA medical team.
The course was geared towards training local participants on the prevention and treatment of injured players and the prevention of a sudden cardiac attack on the field of play.
Speaking on behalf of the Normalization Committee, acting-secretary general Marcel Mendy highlighted the significance of the round-table, revealing that this was the first time for The Gambia to have such training in the history of Gambian football.
Football cannot be played in the absence of medical personnel, he said, adding that people need to know whatever they are involved in, especially when dealing with human lives.
GFA co-opted member Pa Suwareh Faye, in his remarks on the occasion, urged them to be committed in the training to be able to utilise the knowledge gained from it.
The executive secretary of the National Sports Council, Mamudou Max Jallow, also spoke at the forum.
