Momodou Lamin Bah, alias Egalitarian, has completed all preparations to launch the long-awaited album today at the Jerma Beach Hotel in Kololi.
Proudly sponsored by His Excellency Sheikh Professor Dr Alhaji Yahya A. J. J. Jammeh, the launching is expected to be attended by senior government officials and a cross-section of Gambian artistes as well as entertainment journalists.
Speaking last Tuesday at the head office of the National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Egalitarian, the brain behind the event, sent special thanks to the Gambian leader for taking everything in his hands by sponsoring his album.
He also commended the NCAC and all those who supported him in one way or the other in the drive to produce another set of hits.
The Gambian international music star said the album will hit the smiling coast of Africa and the sub-region as soon as it is launched.
“The album is for everybody,” he said, adding that it contains melodious tunes.
Egalitarian says his mission is to bring people together. “My music, which is based on love and unity, is to unite the people,” he said.
Hassoum Ceesay, director of Copyright law, NCAC, thanked Egalitarian for briefing the Centre on the upcoming event.
He assured the music star of their support saying “the NCAC is here to encourage and promote Gambian music”.
He also called on musicians to register with the Centre, without which “it would be difficult for musicians to benefit from anything good from the centre”.
Speakers at the ceremony included Matty Jobe of the NCAC.
