State
prosecutors had filed a bill of indictment against one Muhammed Mbye, who was
charged with economic crime at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul before
Justice Emmanuel Nkea.
Muhammed Mbye was first arraigned at the lower court in Banjul and had his case transferred to the High Court for lack of jurisdiction.
When the case was called, the trial judge asked the state prosecutor whether the prosecution had filed their bill of indictment, and she replied in the affirmative.
At that juncture, the case was adjourned till 27 November 2013, for the accused person to take his plea.
The court further ordered the state counsel to serve the defence counsel with the summary of evidence and the list of names of witnesses.
