After hours of competition pegged around 16 holes last Tuesday, pros and amateurs golfers gathered to calculate their scores in the weekly Gambia Golf Association completion.
Dodou Gassama emerged first with 61 points and went home with a cash prize of 500 Dalasi.
Tijan kuyateh was second with 64 points and a cash prize of 200 Dalasi. Pa Famara Jatta claimed third with 66 points and a cash prize of 100 Dalasi.
The Gambia Golf Association, in collaboration with two Swedish police officers who are on vacation in The Gambia, LARS BLIXTH and AKE THORIN are sponsors of weekly Pros competition which is played every Tuesday, at the Fajara Golf Course.
The armatures that played Stableford were won by Suzzan with 29 points, the newest member of the GGA. Edrissa Jammeh came out second with 27 points, while Omar Jadama and Tony Tabbal emerged at par with 26 points.
Speaking to one of the sponsors, LARS BLIXTH who is also a golfer said; "I happened to be the friend of the GGA's Treasurer, Tony Tabbal who invited us to the golf course, so we decided to sponsor the weekly PRO competition and we are really happy to sponsor it."
"As a police officer I only play golf during my off days. I would love to sponsor the weekly PRO as time goes on."
Meanwhile, the
