The Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently ordered one Semu Njie, a defendant, to pay the plaintiff, Sulayman Drammeh, D45,000 and D1,000 for cost.
Semu Njie was served a summon but he refused to go to court to defend the claim against him.
Consequently judgment was entered against him for D45,000 and D1,000 for cost, being the consideration paid to him for a visa procurement he failed to produce.
According to the particulars of claim, the plaintiff was claiming for the recovery of D45,000 being money given to the defendant for a consideration for the defendant to procure him a visa, which he failed to do despite several demands for him to produce the visa or give back the money.
