The International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) has approved $90,000 equivalent to D2.3M for the refurbishment of the pattern of the different colours of straight line crossing each other for sprinters at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
This development came as a result of a request made by the Gambia Athletics Association (GAA) to the IAAF for the refurbishment of the stadium.
The release further indicates recognition from GAA in accepting solution number two that the recouping is less expensive and be implemented in a shorter time and allows to obtain level eligibility for second IAAF certificate.
"We will be pleased if the job can be completed by the end of November so that of our National Championship from the 18-20 December 2009, involving all the regions in the country" the release concluded.
