Havana,
Feb 29.- The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, had
a cordial telephone dialogue with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to whom
he ratified the invariable support and solidarity of the Cuban government and
people with that brother Asian country struggling to prevent and control the
epidemic outbreak of the coronavirus
The
president of the Caribbean nation transferred confidence in the ability of the
Chinese authorities to overcome adversities, with the unity and firmness of the
people and their leaders.
Díaz-Canel
said that the help we can offer is modest, but it is in line with the
solidarity vocation of our people and the special feelings that unite us.
Both
countries have always been together and will continue together, especially in
difficult times, supporting and cooperating with each other, said the Cuban
President.
For
his part, Xi Jinping said that the sending from the beginning of the epidemic
of messages of solidarity by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of
the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and Díaz-Canel, who
also visited The Chinese embassy to express their support, are a reflection of
the traditional friendship between both nations. He also stressed that China
and Cuba are good friends, colleagues and brothers.
Both
parties agreed to also highlight the importance of the commemoration of the
60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and
China this year, which have been based on deep historical roots and mutual
trust, which has been nurtured with the legacy from several generations.
