Cuban president confirms solidarity with China in telephone dialogue with his counterpart, Xi Jinping

Havana, Feb 29.- The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, had a cordial telephone dialogue with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to whom he ratified the invariable support and solidarity of the Cuban government and people with that brother Asian country struggling to prevent and control the epidemic outbreak of the coronavirus

The president of the Caribbean nation transferred confidence in the ability of the Chinese authorities to overcome adversities, with the unity and firmness of the people and their leaders.

Díaz-Canel said that the help we can offer is modest, but it is in line with the solidarity vocation of our people and the special feelings that unite us.

Both countries have always been together and will continue together, especially in difficult times, supporting and cooperating with each other, said the Cuban President.

For his part, Xi Jinping said that the sending from the beginning of the epidemic of messages of solidarity by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and Díaz-Canel, who also visited The Chinese embassy to express their support, are a reflection of the traditional friendship between both nations. He also stressed that China and Cuba are good friends, colleagues and brothers.

Both parties agreed to also highlight the importance of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China this year, which have been based on deep historical roots and mutual trust, which has been nurtured with the legacy from several generations.
