The Gambia Cricket Association is set to hold a three-day umpiring course from Saturday 27 to 29 April 2013 at the 22nd July Square Hall in Banjul.
The objective of the course is to increase the number of umpires in the country as well as to look at the laws of the game, Umpire’s Signals and other aspect of umpiring.
Participants at the end of the training will sit to a written exam which will be sent to South Africa for marking so they will be certified with certificates, said Gambia Cricket Association Secretary General Wilfred Riley.
He added that the course coordinator for this program is Mr John Gomez, a Panel ‘A’ Umpire, ICC/ACA Instructor Umpire in charge of Northwest Region, and will be assisted by Mbye Dumbuya who is a Panel ‘B’ Umpire.
On Tuesday the association will run a day of ICC/ACA Module II CAP Administrator Course at the 22nd July Square Hall in Banjul.
The day-long administrators course is also sponsored by ICC/ACA and is for sports administrators.
The course coordinator will be Johnny Gomez and its Development Team.
