Court hears case of threatening violence, willful damage to property

The Kanifing Magistrates’ Court yesterday heard a case of criminal trespass, threatening violence and willful damage to property brought against one Abdou Joof.

The charge sheet on count one stated that the accused, Abdou Joof, on 17 December 2011, at Fajara, in the Kanifing Municipality, entered into the house of Remigijus Araminas and Siavash Mehenial, with intent to intimidate, insult or annoy them.

Count two read that on the same date and place, Joof with intent to intimidate, insult or annoy Siavash Mehenial and Remigijus Araminas and threatened to kill them.

The particulars of the offence on count three stated that Joof damaged the house door of Siavash Mehenial.

Meanwhile, the accused, Abdou Joof, had denied the charges and was granted court bail of D50,000 with a Gambian surety, who must deposit an ID card.

The case was then adjourned till 18 January 2012.
