Clubs brace up for domestic league season

League clubs are gearing up for the 2016-2017 domestic league season, as the country’s domestic division one and two league seasons are set to kick off later this month.

Current league champions Gambia Ports Authority are set to clash with FF Cup champions Brikama United in the season’s traditional curtain raiser Super Cup final slated for Monday 14 November 2016, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Gambia Ports Authority and Brikama United are preparing physically and mentally to retain their league and FF Cup crowns come 2016-2017 season.

Real De Banjul, Gamtel and Hawks are also preparing physically and morally to compete with Gambia Ports Authority and Brikama United for the league and FF Cup crowns in the 2016-2017 season after losing the league and FF Cup titles to Gambia Ports Authority and Brikama United last season.

Bakau giant killers Steve Biko, Bombada and Serrekunda United are gearing up for the new domestic league season and are hoping to put up stunning performance in order to keep themselves in the top flight and avoid relegation to the second tier.

The newly-promoted side Marimoo and Tallinding United are preparing well for the domestic league season following their promotion to the top flight last season after their stunning performance in the second division.

The Manjai-based outfit and Tallinding-based outfit will be preparing well for the league and as they hope to win their games to stay in the top flight and avoid relegation to the second tier following their excellent performance in the second tier last season.
