Car accident case reaches court

A man called Karamo Darboe was Tuesday arraigned before Magistrate Jagne of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with rash and negligent act, causing death.

The particulars of the offence stated that on 16 October 2013, at Bonto Village, the defendant, Karamo Darboe, drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 9364H in a rash and negligent manner, thereby caused the death of one Musa Hydara.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D100,000 with two Gambian sureties, who shall depose to an affidavit of means.

Further hearing was adjourned till 26 November 2013.

In a similar development, one Ousman Sanneh was also arraigned before the same court, charged with rash and negligent act, causing death.

According to the particulars of offence read in court, on 16 November 2013, at Kitty village, the defendant, Ousman Sanneh, drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 3535G in a rash and negligent manner, thereby caused the death of one Fatou Sanneh.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D100,000 with two Gambian sureties who shall depose to an affidavit of means.
