Businessman testifies in court

One Alfusainey Ceesay, a businessman recently testified in the ongoing criminal trial involving, Adama Baldeh and Cherno Baldeh who are standing trial before Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with stealing.

Testifying before the court, the complainant Alfusainey Ceesay told the court that he recognised the accused persons and could also recall sometime in the month of September 2009.

According to him, on that fateful day he left his home to his bureau de change at Brusubi and upon arrival there, two of his employees, Alieu Ceesay and Yaya Sanyang informed him that the accused persons came to change 1,700 Euros.

Mr. Ceesay further adduced that he was also told that, the accused persons left 400 Euros with them and went away with 1,300 Euros.

He said on 20th October 2009, he went to his second bereau de change branch in Bakau with Yaya Sanyang, when they met with the second accused whom Yaya Sanyang later recognised.

He added that he reported the matter to Bakau Police Station, who got him arrested.

The case was adjourned to 11th February 2010 for continuation.
