Burundian Musician in Town

Music aficionados, especially die-hard fans of music lovers will want to hear the good news that Burundian musician in Jampara accompanied by his manageress, Ms Clazina are currently in the country on a three weeks? visit.

Jampara and Batalion, as the band is call, was formed a way back in 1993.

The visit of the international artist is promotional as well as to solicit support from good music lovers. Since their arrival in the country, the international artist and his manageress had busied themselves meeting people from all walks of life including the press.

Recently they paid a courtesy visit to the Point Newspaper during which they had a chat with the Entertainment boss.

Speaking in an interview with Entertainment, Mr. Jampara told Entertainment that the visit is aimed at promoting two of their albums.

Jampara, who had travelled far and wide, revealed that since the formation of the band, they have performed in all the five continents in the world.

According to him, before 1993, he made two albums with Bob Marley, entitled ?Tolerance and Beyond Sun Jampara.?

Jampara maintained that his music is purely based on African music on love, peace and justice.

In conclusion, the Burundian Holland-based Jampara thanked The Gambian people for their hospitality. He however called on Gambian musicians to work hard, so that one day their stars will shine to the highest.

The Burundian artist and his band are expected to perform in Holland (Amsterdam) with Alpha Blondy on the 2nd and 3rd November 2009.
