Brufut Utd, Gunjur Utd snatch 1st win in WCR 3rd Division League

Brufut United and Gunjur United have registered their first victories in the 2014 West Coast Region third division league after defeating Kombo Kerewan United and Black &White of Berending, and Brikama respectively in the week-two fixtures played at the weekend.

Brufut United beat Black &White 1-0 at the Brufut Football Field on Sunday to bag the maximum three points at the expense of Black &White, who drew goalless with Gunjur United in the week-one fixtures.

Gunjur United thumped Brikama 2-1 at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field, with goals from Bakary Touray alias Michael Carrick, in the 19th and 27th minutes of the game respectively.

Jerreh Samateh’s 77th-minute astonishing free-kick only proved to be a consolation goal for the Kombo Central outfit Brikama.

Jambanjelly United have maintained their hundred percent record in the league after beating Farato United 2-0 in the all-Kombo South derby game played at the Farato Football Field the same day.

Jambanjelly United are leading the league table with maximum 6 points in two outings. Sifoe United are 2nd place with 4 points in two games, Gunjur United are 3rd place with 4 points in two games, and Busumbala United and Brufut United are 4th and 5th places respectively with 3 points each in one game.

Nema United, Foni Berefet, Black &White,Berending are 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th places respectively with 1 point each in two games.

Brikama, New Yundum and Farato United are occupying 10th, 11th and 12th places respectively with zero point in one game.
