Banjul
Regional Football Association (BRFA) is set to stage a football tournament
geared towards assisting Banjul clubs to prepare for the fourth coming football
season and to enable them have the required match fitness and competitiveness
before the commencement of the 2019/2020 league season.
The
tournament will be played at the Banjul Mini Stadium (KG5) and Saint
Augustine’s football field respectively. It will be staged in two groups which
will commence on Friday 8th of November 2019.
According
to Secretary General Demba Njie, matches will be played in the morning (8am),
afternoon (3pm) and 5pm.
He
said as a pre-season, clubs will be expected to play on tight schedules (every
other day to consolidate their fitness and preparation for the season).
Group
A consist of Real de Banjul who finished 2nd position in the league, Gambia
Ports Authority (GPA) who finished 8th position, Banjul United (11th), Sporting
Real (2nd) and Young Africans (9th). Group B will feature Hawks (6th), Wallidan
(9th), Waa Banjul (1st), Red Hawk (12th) and Blue Diamond/Roots.
