The management of Brikama Area Council (BAC) has presented 75 pairs of brand new uniforms and gadgets to personnel of its police department. The new uniforms, according to officials, are worth D130, 800.
During a parade ceremony held at the council’s grounds on 19th September 2011, Commissioner Dembo Jassey, head of the council’s police unit, described the provision of standard gadgets of uniform to his men as one of its kind, and a huge morale booster.
Commissioner Jassey commended the management for providing the new sets of uniform to his personnel.
He urged his men to live up to expectations in enforcing revenue generation of the council, among others. He further advised his staff to act responsibly in the performance of their roles.
Momodou Jallow Chief Executive Officer of BAC also advised the police personnel to be steadfast and committed in the discharge of their functions. Mr. Jallow underscored the central role of the said unit in enhancing efficient and effective performance of the council.
Sunkary Badjie, chairman of the BAC, said his council will remain committed to effective and efficient service delivery. Badjie said the provision of the uniforms will uplift the morale of the BAC police personnel. He ended by reminding the council’s police that to whom much is given much is expected.
The BAC chairman finally urged the personnel to demonstrate professionalism at all times, and to execute their duties without fear or favour.
