The Brikama Area Council and the
Muhammad Sanyang, the Alkalo of Tumani Tenda, expressed gratitude to BAC for choosing his village to plant the trees, and promised that the trees would be protected to ensure their productivity.
Speaking at the tree-planting exercise, Modou Jonga, acting Public Relations Officer at BAC said the exercise manifests the commitment of his council and partners in conserving and preserving the environment.
While urging the community to ensure the protection of the planted trees, he underscored the importance of trees.
In his remarks, Alhagie Kujabi, the Ward Councillor of Kafuta, expressed delight at the support rendered by the community of Tumani Tenda in enhancing the success of the tree-planting exercise. Mr. Kujabi expressed hope that the community would protect the planted trees.
The Mayor of Grand Yoff Municipality, Mamadou Mbaye, who planted the first tree of the exercise reiterated the resolve of the partnership of his Municipality, BAC and partners to conserve the environmental cover. Mr. Mbaye noted that the tree-planting exercise would complement the efforts of the government in the environmental sector.
Saikou Janko, the President of KOMFORA, also stated the resolve of his community in partnership with stakeholders towards improving the environment.
