Babucarr Jobe stoppage time strike salvage point for Gambia in Afcon qualifier

Substitute Babacarr Jobe’s stoppage time strike has salvage a point for Gambia against Democratic Republic of Congo in the 2021 Africa cup of Nation qualifiers played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau yesterday.

Defender Omar Colley could have opened the scores for The Gambia in the 23rd minute of the match, but his effort was saved by Congo’s net-minder Joe Kiasunbua.

Striker Babucarr Trawally also came close to opening the scores for The Gambia in the 45th minute but his brilliant effort was denied by Congo’s custodian Joe Kiasunbua.

Former Villarreal striker Cedric Bukanbu gave Democratic Republic of Congo the lead in the stroke of half time. However, Skipper Pa Modou Jagne leveled matters for The Gambia in the 51st minute to make 1-1.

Jackson Nuleka scored Democratic Republic of Congo’s second goal in 76th minutes, but Substitute Babucarr Jobe snatched the equalizer for The Gambia in stoppage time to share point.
