Armed Forces beat Young Africans 1-0 on Sunday to register their first win in the 2012-2013 Gamtel-Gamcel sponsored Gambia Football Association division one league in week-four clashes played at the Brikama Mini Stadium.
Armed Forces came into the game with zero points in three games after losing three games in a row against Bakau United, Real De Banjul and Gamtel, knowing that a defeat against Young Africans will really dash their hopes of winning the league title.
They fought tooth and nail to secure a win to keep their title hopes alive and managed to score one goal, which eventually proved to be a winner.
Bakau United also beat Hawks on the same score line at the Banjul Mini Stadium, while the 2010-2011 league champions Brikama United were held to a goalless draw by Steve Biko at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.
Armed Forces have now collected 3 points in four games; Young Africans and Hawks are with 4 points each in four games, while Bakau United and Brikama United are with 6 points each in three games.
