Armed Forces share points with Gamtel in pre-season opener

The 2009 Gambia Football Association (GFA), Division One league champions, the Gambia Armed Forces last Tuesday 15th December 2009, draw 0-0 with Gamtel FC in the opening game of the ongoing Banjul Preseason Championship, at the KG5 Mini Stadium in Banjul.

Both teams put up brilliant performance and created wonderful scoring opportunities in front of each other's goal mouth but could not capitalise on their chances, thus the first half ended 0-0.

As action resumed in the second period of the game both teams reorganised themselves and came all for an opening goal, but failed to make good use of their numerous scoring opportunities.

Speaking to the Head Coach of Gamtel FC, Sulayman Corr, shortly after the game, he revealed that they only had eight days to prepare for the competition.

Head Coach Corr also said that this is a preseason, and as a result, he is giving chance to his new players. As he put it, it is a form of trial matches for them.
