Alleged housebreaking and stealing case continues

The trial of Jarry Sanneh and Abdou Ndow, charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, housebreaking and stealing, continued recently at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Bojang.

Testifying, the third prosecution witness (PW3), Serign Abdou Jallow, told the court he is a police officer attached to the Kanifing Police Station.

He said he recognised the accused persons and recalled that on 6 April 2014, he was on duty at the said police station when he received a case file together with the accused persons and the complainant.

He confronted the accused persons and the complainant, he said, adding that he later obtained cautionary and voluntary statements of the accused persons in the presence of an independent witness, Momodou Nying.

The case was adjourned till 16 July 2014, for defence.
