Africa Muslim Agency Stages Karate Competition

The Africa Muslim Agency branch at Banjulinding, under the supervision of Gambia Shotokan Karate-Do International Association, staged a Karate Competition at its premises on 18 February 2008.

The Karate club of this institution is another club that is named Black Eagle Karate club.

The competition is to celebrate the 44th Anniversary of Independence in The Gambia and was officiated by The Gambia Shotokan Karate-Do International Association.

The competition was divided into six categories and was only limited to Kata competition. The winners of the competition went home with certificates and other prizes.

Speaking to Pointsports, one of the Karate Masters of the club, Mr. Abubacarr Tamba who is the Assistant Technical Director of the Gambia SKI Karate, expressed gratitude and said that the club is not old enough to participate in the National Championship because they are not fully experienced and it's less than one year old.

He believes that his boys really enjoyed the competition because it's the one they have ever had since the clubs inception.
