Accused await verdict

A magistrate court in Kanifing yesterday adjourned the criminal case of assault, causing grievous bodily harm levelled against one Famara Bajinka for sentencing, following his own plea of guilt to the charge.

According to the particulars of offence, on 31st December 2008, at Bakau in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused Famara Bajinka assaulted one Ablie Njie by chopping his left hand with a cutlass, thereby causing him grievous bodily harm.

Magistrate Nying adjourned the case to 16th April 2010.

In another development, Magistrate Nying yesterday also presided over a criminal case of stealing brought against one Baba Bojang.

The accused, Baba Bojang, who pleaded not guilty to the charge was granted a court bail in the sum of D1000, with one Gambian surety.

According to the particulars of offence, on 13th April 2010, in Serekunda, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Baba Bojang stole, six basins, one cooking pot and six spoons, all valued at D440, being the property of one Isatou Barry.
