Paul Mendy, Sam Pierre, Anthony Mendy and Belli Mendy were recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
The accused persons, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, were granted bail of D50, 000 each with two Gambian sureties for each person.
According to the charge sheet, on 26 January 2011, at Latriya Village, in Kombo South, West Coast Region, the accused persons assaulted Nfamara Jarju, Edrisa Camara and Saikou Camara by applying stick, cutlass and beat them all over their bodies until they sustained injuries.
Magistrate Abeke adjourned the case till 14 February 2011.
