This information was disclosed to journalists by the management of Fashion Weekend Gambia during a press conference held recently at Tamala Hotel in Kololi.
Lena Grey Johnson, Co Founder/ Producer of Fashion Weekend Gambia, said the purpose of the show is to enhance Gambians sustainable fashion, adding that this year theme ‘Sustainability and the Rise of Africa’.
“When we have the idea, we need to create the platform for young Gambians,” she said adding that this year, 20 designers are participating. “We are working together with Kombo Beach to view the official launching of this wonderful hotel.”
Lena Grey Johnson added that Fashion Weekend Gambia will be inviting international designers from Guinea Bissau, Senegal, Holland and Sweden, adding that the first night will focus more on African tradition.
