All Stars slip to Tesito in Banjul Nawetan

All Stars FC on Wednesday slipped to Tesito FC 3-0 in the 2022 Mayor Rohey Lowe sponsored Banjul ‘Nawetan’ League at the Banjul Mini Stadium.
Hon. Badjie was speaking to Executive members of the GFF who visited him at his Office in Banjul on a courtesy call to formally congratulate him on his deserved appointment. The new MoYS first welcomed the GFF delegation and expressed delight to welcome Football House. He congratulated the football leadership for the giant steps in the development of football in the country. ” I will give you every support with the Ministry particularly at this time of the Afcon Qualifiers,” he noted.
He revealed to the GFF that amongst the items he first discussed with His Excellency President Barrow was Gambia National Team’s chances of qualifying to the Africa Cup of Nations, a priority that the Ministry and the GFF will collaborate to actualize the dream.
GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo speaking on behalf of the delegation, congratulated Hon Badjie for his appointment and assured him of GFF’s unalloyed support during the course of his tenure.
Mr. Bajo enumerated on the GFF’s programmes and engagements to abreast the new Minister on the status of the Federation. He further informed him on the situation of the National Team (Scorpions) current engagement at the Afcon Qualifiers with support from government and do wished that more support would be forth coming especially at a time when he (MoYS) came in as Minister.
GFF Boss reminded the new Minister that national teams are government’s responsibilities to fund its activities. “However, due to constraints, GFF would sometimes step in to finance the Junior categories including the Women’s National Team.” Mr. Bajo further thanked government and the football family for the support and collaboration towards the advancement and growth of football in the Gambia and called for more support in the period for Gambia’s quest to its first ever Afcon Finals.
The GFF delegation includes 1st Vice President Alh Bakary K Jammeh, National Team Manager Ousman (Cho) Drammeh and General Secretary Lamin M Jassey.
