Wuli Jah Kunda clinch Lady Sarjo Mballow tourney trophy

Wuli Jah Kunda Football Team over the weekend thumped Wuli Touba Football Team 2-1 in a well-attended final played at the Kerewan Football Field  to clinch Lady Sarjo Mballow football tournament trophy. 

The tournament was organised by the National Assembly for Wuli West Hon. Famara Sabally in collaboration with Wuli West Football Committee (WWFC).

 The football tournament was aimed at bringing youths together, fostering unity and cooperation among them.

 Wuli Jah Kunda and Wuli Touba both played attacking and counter attacking, crafting goal scoring opportunities.

 Wuli Jah-Kunda first scored a goal in the first half to dash Wuli Touba’s dreams of coming back to their feet and scored a goal and equalized 1-1 in the first half of the game.

Upon resumption of the match, Wuli Jah kunda scored the second goal in the 37 minutes of the second half of the game, while Touba kunda put more presure to revenge but to no avail thus the match ened 2-1 in favour of Jah kunda. 

As champions, Jah Kunda went home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of D10, 000 while Wuli Touba received D5, 000 as runners-up.

Abou Barrow of Jah Kunda was awarded as the best player of the tournament and Omar Sonko as the leading scorer of the tournament, while the most discipline player was awarded to Touba FC.

 The final was attended by Mr. Lamin Barrow, father of the NPP Wuli West, who also doubles as the CEO of Wuli Jah-Kunda football club.

 The final was also witnessed by the National Assembly Member for Toumana, Mr. Fally Korea, NPP Chairman of Wuli West, Fa-saidy Barrow, Councilor of Sare Ngai Ward, Mr. Bubacarr Danjo, who also doubles as vice Chairman of Basse Area Council.

Councilor of Sutukonding Ward Mr. Mawdo Sissoho and cross-section of the communities also attended the final.
