
The delegates rejected Cham’s decision to proceed with her proposed agenda during the Elective Congress at the Football Hotel in Old Yundum.

The heated debate lasted for eight hours.
Sainabou Cham was elected as president of WFA on 29th May 2021.
Cham is currently seeking for re-election.
According to the delegates, the General Assembly has the right to adopt the agenda.
Cham's unilateral decision to go ahead with the agenda was viewed by majority delegates as unconstitutional, noting that she was trying to butcher the constitution.
The confrontation reached its peak when the president presided over a voting for the Elective Congress agenda to be adopted and proceed.
A total of 25 members voted to proceed with the congress, while 13 voted for the Congress not to go ahead and two did not vote.
Many delegates contended that any candidates, who do not meet the requirements would not contest.
The delegates also raised serious concerns about the absence of the treasurer's report after the dissolution of the executive, the chairperson of the electoral committee was going through the incumbent documents and find out that her certificate of character was missing on her documents submitted.
This did not go down well with some delegates, while calling on the electoral committee chairperson to disqualify Sainabou Cham.
The chairperson of the electoral committee stated they could not comprised with their integrity, while calling on the candidates to go and bring the all the necessary documents.
This forced the elective Congress to be suspended
The new date for the congress will be announced by the electoral committee later.
