TMT, BST Galaxy gain automatic qualification to top tier league

Today Makes Tomorrow (TMT FC) and Baboucarr Steve Trawally (BST Galaxy FC) have both gained automatic qualification spots to the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League next season with a game to spare.

TMT FC reclaimed top spot after thrashing B4U Kiang West 5-0 away at the Soma Mini Stadium on Sunday.

Yahya Ndong scored a brace in the 47th and 52nd minutes, while Lamin Fatty, Sanna Jassey and Malang Jammeh each registered a goal in the 2nd, 19th, and 90th minutes respectively.

The victory moves TMT to the top of the league table standing with 63 points, two points above BST Galaxy, while B4U Kiang West maintain first-from-bottom-(16th) position with 28 points in 33 matches.

BST Galaxy was forced to a 1-1 draw by Latrikunda United during a game played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Lamin Sarr gave BST the lead in the 24th minute, while Ismaila Mbye restored parity for Latrikunda United in the 66th minute.

The result drops BST Galaxy to 2nd position with 61 points, while Latrikunda United occupy 13th position with 43 points.

Immigration FC defeated Young Africans 2-1 during a game played at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

Alex Gomez gave Young Africans a dream start with a 28th minute goal but Ebrima Camara and Lamin Sonko completed the comeback for the security outfit to confirm Young Africans relegation to the regional Third Division League.

Immigration FC now sit 12th position with 43 points, while Young Africans dropped to second from bottom-(17th)-position with 25 points.

Elite United also came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Kanifing East at the Live Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori.

Abdoulie S. Conteh scored for Kanifing in the 20th minute, before Ebrima Jagne equalized for Elite United in the 37th minute.

The result puts Elite United at 4th position with 55 points, while Kanifing East sit 7th position with 51 points.

The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) played a 2-2 draw against Jarra West at the KG5 Mini Stadium in Banjul.

Saikou Sylla scored twice for the GPA side in the14th and 74th minutes, while Abdou Corr's 76th-minute own goal and Musa Ceesay's 88th-minute strike levelled matters for Jarra West.

The draw drops GPA to 8th position with 51 points, while Jarra West occupy 14th position with 33 points.

Elsewhere, the game between BK Milan and Tallinding United was abandoned due to heavy downpour at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.

Meanwhile, TMT FC is leading the standings with 63 points. BST Galaxy occupy 2nd position with 61 points. Jam City, Elite United, and Bombada, respectively occupy the playoff positions while BK Milan is on 6th position with a game in hand against Tallinding United who is just 2 points above the relegation zone.

However, Kuteh Jumbulu and Africans have already been confirmed relegated from the Second Tier League to the Regional Third Division League next season.
