The Gunjur Santos based-team beat Corner to Learn FC 2-1 in a well-attended final played at the Gunjur Upper Basic School Football Field on Saturday.
Lamin Kebba Janneh gave Super Santos FC the lead in the 5th minute of the match from an astonishing striker.
Corner to Learn FC fought hard for an equaliser and levelled matters through Abdoukarim Touray in the 20th minute of the match after capitalising on goalkeeper Abdoulie Darboe’s blunder thus the first half ended 1-1.
Upon resumption of the match, Super Santos FC and Corner to Learn FC both injected in several fresh legs to reinforce their attacking tags.
Abdoulie Touray scored the winning goal for Super Santos FC in the dying minute of the match after capitalising on goalkeeper Lamin Touray’s error.
Corner to Learn FC reacted quickly for an equaliser but to no avail thus the match ended 2-1 in favour of Super Santos FC.
As champions, Super Santos FC went home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of D6, 000 while Corner to Learn FC received D4, 000 as runners-up.
