Sulayman Barrow has been appointed as new head coach of Gunjur United Football Club.
Barrow replaced Bubacarr Kakai Bojang, who resigned after the Coastal Boys' relegation to the Third Division League last season.
He guided Gunjur to the 2022 West Coast Region Zonal Football Tournament trophy after thumping Sanyang 2-0 in a final played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium, thanks to Bubacarr Bojang's brace.
Barrow also guided Gunjur to the 2022 Kombo South District Football Tournament title after thrashing Banyaka 3-1 in a final played at the Sanyang Football Field, thanks to goals from Sheriffo Bojang and Ousman J. Janneh.
He earned Gunjur the 2024 West Coast Region Zonal Super Cup trophy following their 7-6 post-match penalty shootouts win over Foni after regular time ended 2-2 in a tightly-contested final played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Barrow guided Gunjur to the 2024 West Coast Region Zonal Football Tournament final but slipped to Foni 4-2 on post-match pently shootouts after regulation time ended 1-1 in a well-contested final played at the same venue.
He will try hard to return Gunjur Football Club to The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division League.
