Stadium can accommodate merely 14,219 people for Gambia, Algeria clash- EMC chair

The chairman of the Events Management Committee of The Gambia Football Federation, Willy Abraham, has stated that the Independence Stadium can accommodate only fourteen thousand two hundred and nineteen (14,219) people for The Gambia and Algeria 2025 Total Energies CHAN qualifier match set for Saturday 3rd May 2025.

Abraham was speaking to journalists during a press conference held at the Football House in Kanifing on Friday.

He revealed that everybody is happy to watch The Gambia and Algeria CHAN qualifier match after CAF temporally lifted ban on the Independence Stadium.

Abraham further revealed that VIP section would accommodate 343 people, adding that Alhagie Njie Bri Bri covered pavilion would accommodate 1,492 people.

He stated that Alhagie OB Conateh covered pavilion would accommodate 1,668 people, adding that opposite score board area pavilion would accommodate 2,765 people.

Abraham further stated that Alhagie Ousainou Njie pavilion would accommodate 5, 240 people, noting that media section would accommodate 50 journalists.

He added that VIP tickets are pegged at D 5,000 and covered pavilion tickets are pegged at D1, 000.

Abraham further added that tickets for uncovered pavilion are pegged at D500.

He thanked CAF for allowing the Independence Stadium to host The Gambia and Algeria 2025 Total Energies CHAN qualifier match.

Abraham also thanked Ministry of Youth and Sports for refurbishing the Independence Stadium.
