The secretary general of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Lamin M. Jassey, has alleged that some social media platforms are discouraging people from contributing to The Gambia senior national team’s road to the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Ivory Coast.

Jassey was speaking to journalists at a press conference held at the Football House in Kanifing yesterday.

‘‘Some social media platforms are discouraging people to contribute to The Gambia senior national team’s road to the continent’s biennial biggest football showpiece,’’ Mr. Jassey.

He revealed that the Scorpions are currently in Saudi Arabia for an international training camp to prepare themselves fit enough ahead of the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations.

He further revealed that The Gambia senior national team will return to Banjul from their international training camp in Saudi Arabia on 9th January 2024 before traveling to Ivory Coast on 10th January 2024 for the continent’s bi-annual biggest football fiesta.

Jassey appealed to journalists and media houses to encourage people to contribute to The Gambia senior national team’s road to the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations.

‘‘I am appealing to journalists and media houses to encourage people to contribute to the national team’s road to the continent’s biennial biggest football jamboree,’’ Mr. Jassey said.
