Juventus FC, Milan FC, Nguma FC and Eagle Stars FC are the teams that booked their places into the semifinal stage of the SESDO league cup ‘nawetan’ tournament following their latest wins in the quarterfinals.
Juventus FC defeated New Germany 2-0 during the first quarterfinal game played on Tuesday.
Sulayman Jawla opened the scoring for Juve in the 19th minute before Haji Touray doubled their lead in the 67th minute.
The victory sent the Tallinding-based team, Juvenuts into the last four while the Serrekunda-based team, New Germany was eliminated.
Milan FC defeated T Town 2-1 in the Tallinding-derby of the second quarterfinal game played late on Tuesday.
Molamin Sarr of T Town opened the scoring for his side in the 5th minute before Kalifa Kanyi leveled matters for Milan FC through the penalty spot in the 10th minute.
Henry Silva scored the winner for Milan FC in the 15th minute.
With both teams coming from Tallinding, it was Milan FC who had the last laugh after coming from behind to grab the winner.
Nguma FC won Hannover FC 5-4 on post-match penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regulation time during the third quarterfinal game played on Wednesday.
Both teams scored their goals through spot kicks.
Muhammed Lowe converted Hannover’s penalty in the 45th minute while Lamin Drammeh converted that of Njuma FC in the 61st minute.
The win sent the London Corner-based team, Njuma to the semifinals, while the Tallinding-based team, Hannover crashed out.
Eagle Stars FC completed the lineup for the last four after defeating BJ Academy 6-5 on post-match penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Both teams came into the game with a good run of form in the league cup tournament but it was the Bundung-based team, Eagle Stars who had their fans riot in happiness after going into the semifinal stage.
Meanwhile, Milan FC will take on Nguma FC in the first semifinal game, while Eagle Star will play against Juventus in the other semifinal game of the league cup tournament.
