The training will focus on finance reporting and budget analysis

Twenty (20) Gambian sports journalists will take part in the training.

The training will equip sports journalists with knowledge and tools to produce accurate and informative reports on sports finance.
The president of the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG), Omar Jarju, emphasised the importance of the financial literacy for Gambian sports journalists, adding that it would allow them to better understand business side of the industry and report it accurately.

“I am looking forward to see participants receive adequate knowledge that would help make sports associations/federations accountable for their financial decisions and ensure transparency,’’Jarju said.
Jarjue stated that the training would lead to more in-depth and accurate reporting on financial matters in Gambian sports, adding that the training would ultimately benefit both sports journalists and the general public.
Meanwhile, Chief Financial Officer of GTBank Gambia Limited, Pa Omar Jobarteh, will serve as the lead trainer during the SJAG capacity building training on financial reporting and budget analysis.
