SJAG prexy, SG in Morocco for 87th AIPS Congress

President of the Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia (SJAG), Omar Jarju and Secretary General Muhammed Lamin Drammeh are currently in Rabat, Morocco, for the 87th International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Congress.

Jarju and Drammeh will represent Sports Journalists of The Gambia at the AIPS Congress.

The AIPS Congress is a premier gathering of sports journalists, media professionals and sports organisations, shaping the future of sports journalism.
The 2025 programme will feature dynamic discussions on AIPS role in media, investigative journalism and the influence of content creators, updates on the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games and AIPS Sports Media Awards.

Panels on illegal betting and media operations for major events will further elevate the dialogue.
Founded in 1924, AIPS is the world’s leading body for sports journalists, uniting 160 national associations, including SJAG.

It champions press freedom, ethical reporting, and professional development through programmes such as AIPS Young Reporter Programme and globally recognized press cards.

Former president of SJAG Musa Sise is currently the Secretary General of AIPS.

Sise’s presence at the congress will reflects his commitment to excellence and innovation in sports journalism

Jarju and Drammeh will engage in continental meetings, build strategic partnerships and explore ways to advance investigative reporting and digital media in The Gambia. 

Meanwhile, Morocco is the headquarter for AIPS Africa.
