The balloting, which was graced and witnessed by all the 40 teams’ representatives was held at the Semega Janneh Hall in Serrekunda East.
Fourty teams were drawn in eight groupings of five teams each. The best three teams from each group are expected to progress into the next stage of the competition.
Baboucarr Krubally, Public Relations Officer for the Serrekunda East Committee, said they were anticipating another enticing and successful nawetan season.
“We are thrilled with anticipation to again organise another entertaining, skills and talent performance nawetan tournament. We at Serrekunda East Zone are yet again calling on all and sundry to come and witness another exciting nawetan season at the home of Gambian Football- Serrekunda East.”
He went on to congratulate all the teams that have qualified for the nawetan proper from the qualifiers and also urged all the nawetan teams to maintain the highest level of discipline.
“We are urging all the teams to operate within the rules and regulations of the game.”
According to him, they will start the nawetan tournament on Saturday immediately after the Super Cup final on Friday, disclosing that this year’s Serrekunda East nawetan tournament is sponsored by Africell Gambia Ltd.
