After 12 years of absence due to suspension and relegations, T.K. Snookers returned to Serrekunda East nawetan proper after defeating last year’s relegated side Weeh Weeh Bi 2-0 during their playoff match played on Wednesday.
Abdourahman Barry guided T.K. Snookers FC to their return after scoring both goals (a brace) in the 33rd and 61st minutes respectively.
Last year’s relegated side B.B Rovers returned to Serrekunda East nawetan football after eliminating Livington 3-1 during the second playoff match played on Thursday.
B.B Rovers opened their scoring through Lamin Keita’s tap in the 12 minutes. Livington FC equalized through Mustapha Kinteh’s well-placed corner in the 24th minute.
The Bundung-based team, B.B Rovers FC went in front again after Abdou Baldeh’s goal in the 35th minute before Salifu Singhateh put the game to bed with his brilliant finish in the 51st minute.
Timbuktu FC, one of the qualifiers teams secured a historic promotion into the SESDO nawetan football after beating Abuko South 4-3 on post-match penalty shootouts following a goalless draw in regulation time on Friday.
Both teams displayed unwavering determination throughout the match, leaving spectators in awe of their skills.
Another qualifier team, Border Bi booked their place into the Serrekunda East nawetan proper after defeating Blue Star, last year’s relegated team 1-0 in the fourth and final playoff match played on Saturday.
Lamin Badjie’s own-goal in the 35th minute was all but enough to earn Border Bi a place in Serrekunda East nawetan proper football.
Meanwhile, Serrekunda East Committee congratulated teams that participated in the 2023 qualifiers tournament for putting in a respectable performance and maintaining discipline throughout the tournament.
