Scorpions to hold final training session at Independence Stadium today

The Gambia senior national team will today, Tuesday, 9th January 2024 hold their final training session at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 4pm before travelling to Ivory Coast for the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations.

The Scorpions returned home after completing a week-long international training camp in Saudi Arabia ahead of the continent’s biennial biggest football jamboree.

The Independence Stadium final training session will give Gambians the opportunity to watch the Scorpions live at the country’s biggest football arena.

The final training session will also give Coach Tom Saintfiet the chances to strengthen his team before the commencement of the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations.

The Scorpions will visit State House to receive battle flag from President Adama Barrow before travelling to Ivory Coast for the continent’s bi-annual biggest football showpiece.

The Gambia will open its 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations campaign against Senegal on 15th January 2024 at 2pm.
