Samger, Brikama win in Gambian Premier League

Samger, Brikama United and Fortune FC all recorded vital wins during their week 28 fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League played on Monday.

Samger FC beat Steve Biko 2-1 at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

The Beach Boys, Steve Biko took the lead in the 4th minutes, before the Academy Boys, Samger came from behind to secure the maximum points through Sam Pierre Senghore and Sidiki Jawara goals in the 30th and 87th minute respectively.

The win sent Samger to 6th position on the table standings with 40 points while Steve Biko dropped to 9th position with 37 points. 

Brikama United defeated Team Rhino 3-2 during a game played at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

Brikama opened the scoring with Badou Biram Njie's own goal in the 2nd minute before goal poacher Mustapha Drammeh made it 2-0 in the 27th minute to earn himself his 18th goal of the campaign.

Team Rhino fought back in the second half with a brace from Malang Jatta. However, Dominic Correa saved the points for Brikama United with his 87th minute low drive.

The victory moves Brikama United to 5th position with 43 points while Team Rhino occupy 7th position with 39 points.

Fortune FC beat Greater Tomorrow 2-1 at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

The relegation threatened side, Greater Tomorrow opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, before the Petroleum Boys, Fortune came from behind to win the match through Alieu Barry equalizer in the 38th and Muhammed Jallow winner in the 61st minutes respectively.

The victory put Fortune FC on 3rd position with 45 points while Greater Tomorrow maintain 14th position with 29 points.  

Meanwhile, Waa Banjul and the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) played a goalless draw at the King George 5 Mini Stadium in Banjul.

The result put Waa Banjul on 13th position with 31 points while GAF occupy 10th position with 37 points.
