Red Scorpions unbeaten run continues in Women League One

Reigning League champions, Red Scorpions have continued their unbeaten run of form with a 4-3 thumping  victory over Gambia Armed Forces during their week 11 fixture of the ongoing 2023 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s First Division League played at Live Your Dream Sports Academy in Basori over the weekend.

Goal machine Kumba Kuyateh continued her impressive goal scoring form after netting a brace in the 29th and 37th minutes respectively.

Fatoumatta Jammeh and Fatou Fatty were also on the score sheet for the Jeshwang based-club.

The Khaki Girls fought back to level the tally but a brace from Fatou Beyai and Jarra SB Jammeh’s strike proved to be consolation for GAF.

The Reds have now extended their lead at the top of the table standing to 6 points.

On the same day, Future Bi drew 2-2 with City Girls. Kaddy Jarju scored a brace in the 23rd and 31st minutes for Future Bi, while City Girls got their goals through Ellen Gai and Mariama Dibba's own goal.

The Brikama based-club, Future Bi sit 7th position with 10 points while City Girls occupy second from bottom with 8 points after 11 matches.

The Gambia Police Force were held to goalless draw by Koita at the Bakau Mini Stadium on Friday.

The Police occupy 3rd spot, while Koita occupy 4th position with 17 points.

Abuko United defeated Jeshwang United 1-0 at the Live Your Dream Sports Complex at Basori. Kaddy Camara alias Neymar scored the game’s only goal in the 81th minute for Abuko United.

Abuko United sit 5th place with 11 points.

Berewuleng pipped Raptim 1-0 at Basori on the same day with Mariama Ceesay scoring the game’s only goal for Berewuleng in the 25th minute.

The Brikama based-club still maintain their second spot with 22 points after 11 matches.

Raptim occupy six position with 10 points.
