Red Scorpions brace up for CAF Women’s Champions League

 The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Women’s League Division One champion Red Scorpions are bracing up the CAF Women’s Champions League to be held in Freetown, Serra Leone.

Coach Choro Jobe Mbenga and her charges are currently intensifying their technical preparations at the team’s training ground in Kanifing ahead of the competition.

The team is expected to leave The Gambia for Freetown, Sierra Leone on 30th July 2024.

The tournament will commence on 2nd August 2024.

In a dispatch, the Team states: “This the journey of this great club (Red Scorpions Women Football Club) to the CAF Women’s Champions League is a significant milestone not only for the club but also for Gambian football as a whole.

This campaign marks the first time a women’s football club from The Gambia will participate in this prestigious continental competition.

 The team’s participation represents an important step forward for women’s sports in The Gambia.
Our participation in the CAF Women’s Champions League is historic.

It reflects the growth and development of women’s football in The Gambia, which has been gaining momentum over recent years.

 The club’s achievement is not just a personal victory; it symbolizes progress for female athletes in a region where opportunities have been limited.
