Red Scorpion, GPF, Koita register 1st wins in Women’s League 1

Red Scorpion, The Gambia Police Force (GPF) and Koita FC over the weekend registered victories in the 2023 Gambia Football Federation Women’s League Division One.

Defending champions, Red Scorpions defeated Abuko United 1-0 during a match played at Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.

Mariama Cham scored for Red Scorpions in the 25th minute of the match.

 Debutants Koita FC thumped City Girls 2-0 at the KG5 Mini Stadium in Banjul on the same day. 

The Gambia Police Force defeated The Gambia Armed Forces 2-0 in security-derby contest played at the Bakau Mini Stadium on Saturday.

Catherine Jatta and Fatoumatta Mook were on target for the Police.

Jeshwang United hammered Future Bi 4-0 on Sunday at the Live Your Dream Sport at Basori. 

Berewuleng thrashed Raptim 3-1 at the Late Ousman Saho Mini Stadium on same day.

Ellen Gomez, Aja Jabang and Teddy Sireh Jatta were on the score sheet for Berewuleng in the 29th, 34th and 39th minutes respectively.

Kaddy Camara pulled back one for the Tallinding based-club, which eventually proved to be a consolation for them.

Elsewhere, in the Second Tier, Greater Tomorrow played a 1-1 draw against Yakarr.

Elizabeth Ndicky netted for Greater Tomorrow, while Joko Saho scored for Yakarr.

Mansa Wally piped Lower Nuimi 1-0 in the all-North Bank Region derby clash played at the Soma Mini Stadium on Sunday.

Kinteh’s drew 1-1 with Brikama United.

Center-Back Binta Jarju was on target for Brikama United, while Aminata Conteh scored for Kinteh’s.

Immigration thumped Trust FC 2-0 during a game played at LOSFF on Saturday.

Jung Mama FC walloped Stone Circle 4-0 at the Soma Mini Stadium.
