Passamai FC on Wednesday sailed to the 2021-2022 Gunjur ‘nawetan’ proper after defeating Madina Salam FC 1-0 in a tightly-contested qualifier match played at the Gunjur Upper and Senior Secondary School Football Field.

Passamai FC dominated the match and created numerous goal scoring opportunities but failed to capitalise on their limited opportunities thus the first half ended goalless.

Upon resumption of the match, Passamai FC maintained their composure and piled heavy pressure on Madina Salam FC defence line, crafting several goal scoring opportunities.

Substitute Moses Mendy opened the scores for Passamai FC in the 75th minute of the match from an astonishing free-kick to give his side the lead, which eventually proved to be the winner for them.

The victory earned Passamai FC a spot in the annual Gunjur rainy season biggest football jamboree proper and Madina Salam FC out.

Meanwhile, Kulukochi United FC navigated to the 2021-2022 Gunjur nawetan proper as best losers despite slipping to Ajax FC on penalties in a tricky qualifier match.
