NPC Sierra Leone arrives in Gambia for friendly visit

A delegation of top executive officials from the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Sierra Leone on Friday 27th October 2023 arrived in Banjul, The Gambia for a friendly visit that will last for 10 days.

The delegation includes Mrs Marie Hannah Kargbo, parents' representative; Mr Alie O. Turay, school head master; and coaches Mr Araphan Sesay and Mr Babah Kamara.

The visit will set the pace for mutual cooperation between the NPCs of The Gambia and Sierra Leone.

During the 10-day visit, the two parties are expected to exchange ideas and learn from each other. The dream of both NPCs is for the growth of their respective Paralympic movements.

The friendly visit was initiated by Unisa Deen Kargbo, president of NPC Sierra Leone and Sulaiman Colley, president of NPC Gambia during their meeting in Tokyo in 2021.

The aim is for both nations to work collaboratively to produce strong para-athletes.

The visiting Sierra Leonean delegation was received on arrival at the Banjul International Airport by Sainey Camara, secretary general of NPC Gambia.

During the team’s stay in The Gambia, they are expected to visit the Gambia National Paralympic Committee office, National Sports Council, Afri Park, West Park, the Gambia National Olympic Committee, Gambia Federation of the Disabled, Monkey Park, Abuko Nature Reserve, among other places but also host other activities.
