They beat Chanters FC 2-nil in a mouth-watering clash played at the village’s community football field on Saturday.
Both teams came into final with the aim of clinching the league trophy.
However, it took Nema FC 17 minutes to break the deadlock thanks to fullback Salifu Jarju’s brilliant finish.
Bakary Manjang doubled Nema FC’s lead in the 50th minute to send fans into jubilation. The final ended two-nil in favour of Nema FC.
As winners, Nema FC received a giant trophy and a cash price of D35, 000 while runners-up Chanters FC received D25, 000.
The final was graced by several high profile dignitaries including Saihou Mballow, special political adviser to President Adama Barrow.
Modou Lamin Jammeh, the head coach of Nema FC, expressed delight over winning his first league trophy. He thanked his players for their wonderful display. He emphasised that their target was to clinch the league trophy, which they accomplished in an exciting fashion.
Bubacarr Barry, also called Alka, the head coach of Chanters FC, expressed satisfaction with the performance of his boys, saying luck was not on their side.
Edrisa Saidy, the Chairman of Koluro Sports Committee commended his committee for a job well done.
“We have played the game without security and it was peacefully done. Teams comported themselves with discipline and high sense of maturity though there were challenges. This led to a violence free tournament,” he stated.
