Nawettan competitions in limbo after coronavirus outbreak daunts leagues

The 2020 wet season biggest football competitions jamboree; Nawettan are in limbo after coronavirus outbreak daunted the country’s first and second division leagues.

The 2019-2020 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) division one and two leagues entered second round matches prior to COVID-19 outbreak in The Gambia last month.

Real De Banjul, Gambia Armed Forces and Gamtel are contending for this year’s league crown following their stunning performance in the league campaign.

BK Milan, Marimoo and Elite United are scuffling for survival in the first division league next season after their miserable performance in the league season.

Latrikunda United, PSV Wellingara and Immigration are vying for promotion to the first division league next season following their startling performance in the second tier campaign.

Bakau giant killers Steve Biko and Serrekunda East Bi are both brawling for survival in the second-tier next season after their woeful performance in the league season.

Meanwhile, Nawettan competitions normally begin immediately after the country’s first and second division leagues season.

But this year’s Nawettan competitions are in limo after coronavirus outbreak in the country stopped first and second division leagues.
